1997 BMW 525I Touring Oxford Green *SOLD*

1997 BMW 525I Touring Oxford Green *SOLD*
Our second E39 touring imported, this Oxford green is the perfect mix of looks and utility. This is a 1997 model, so it sports the 2.5 liter powertrain. Fitted in Oxford Green Metallic over Black Napa Leather comfort interior. This example currently has 51,600 original miles on the clock.
Exterior: The original paint shines up beautifully. Deep in color but loaded with flake so when it does hit sunlight, it comes to life with mineral like color. There are no areas on the car where the clear coat is failing, nor did the paint fail to measure within OEM spec. We found no areas of repair or prior damage, all glass and panels are original and line up as such. We did noticed the AC Schnitzer front lip did suffer some damage on the way off of the boat, resulting in a slightly cracked corner near the drivers side mounting point. The lip itself is in great shape. We do also want to note that the windshield seal has gotten quite dry and is breaking apart, it is not allowing any air or water. The chrome trim surround on the front bumper is also flaking lightly near the front plate mount. Otherwise, the body is in exceptional condition for its age. This car was upgraded to the facelift HELLA headlights with the European spec clear corner lamps. The cherry on top is a genuine BMW of Japan parking pole, oozing Japanese style.
Interior: We love this comfort interior from the e39 chassis, its like sitting in a lazy boy chair but with more bolstering to make you feel snug and secure. All leather is in amazing shape, true to the mileage. No rips, tears, holes, or oddities can be found. Front seats adjust and recline as they should with no twisting. The OEM navigation screen works perfectly, displaying all of your trip related needs as well as an option for Television! Heat works fantastic, as do the seat warmers, AC blowing cold as well. Sadly this e39 is suffering from the horrible OEM cupholder issue, fortunately an easy fix with replacements available on demand. The cluster is missing a few pixels, however it can be read with ease. An intermittent ABS light comes on, but tends to go away within a few hours, we think it is related to a pad sensor. The radio does work with an AUX style cassette tape, however it seems not all of the speakers are functioning. It was passable for us whilst daily driving, but if you’re an audiophile, you may want to consider upgrading the OEM units.
Mechanical: This M52 fires right up, no hesitation. No smoke, odd smells or noises with this E39, as to be expected from such a bulletproof drivetrain. The transmission is tight, shifting when needed and expected. Plenty of torque to be had with this one, making it an absolute blast on the backroads. We’re unsure what suspension is on it, but it feels very planted and predictable. Mechanically this car is stock. The aftermarket wheels are of unknown make, but they look and seem to be of great quality. New tires were fitted this summer from the seller overseas. All lights and electronics work as they should, no issues with central locking either. The rear hatch shocks are a bit soft however, we believe its time for some replacements. Just the glass hatch however does have good shocks. We experienced no overheating or mechanical issues with this car within the 150 miles we placed on it prior to listing. No leaks or corrosion can be found underneath.
This vehicle is sold with a clean Oregon title in the buyers name.
