1990 BMW 324td Touring

1990 BMW 324td Touring

$11,000.00

Is this the cheapest turbo diesel E30 wagon in the USA? You bet it is! We can confidently say that we think this is a quite rare opportunity at a wicked cool e30. The vast majority of these wagons fetch $20,000+, and rightfully so. Tourings have become sought after overseas at long last, making prices similar to that of what we see here in the states. With increased tariff rates, wagons are becoming pricier day to day. This particular example is a rare opportunity because it is not only California legal, but it is a reasonably priced wagon in a fantastic spec. For those of you who are scared of corrosion or desire a show ready car, this e30 is not for you. If you’re an enthusiast who likes to rag on their car, isn’t worried about scuffs or dings, and isn’t scared of body work and wants a one of a kind E30, this one is right up your alley.

This vehicle is currently receiving a mechanical refresh, we’ll have a final updated listing and photos once it is done.

Exterior: Royal Blau Metallic, a color we didn’t know we would love so much. Turns out this Blau has a ton of purple in it, so colors do change quite a bit with lighting. This wagon has original paint, which we do believe will polish out nicely prior to us tossing the keys to the next owner. There are some spots where clear coat is peeling, mainly the roof area and some small spots on the hood. Overall though, its actually quite nice. Body is straight and true, however the front bumper looks to be slightly tweaked and the bumper cover is broken on the drivers side. This is a great excuse to go Mtech 2 in our opinion. Some corrosion can be found near the base of the windshield on the drivers side, bases of misc door pillars (light bubbling), door bottoms, rear lower valance (passenger side) and rear hatch (in the seams). The frame rails and jack points are actually in nice condition. Rear subframe is also solid. Front and rear arches are in nice condition as well. Overall, this level of “crust” is honestly quite normal on these, and panel replacements are available. On the other hand, this car can be driven exactly how it sits for years with no issues.

Interior: You can’t go wrong with a black, comfort leather interior. This wagon actually presents quite nicely inside, no rips or tears on the seats. Carpet is in decent condition as well. The dash is the icing on the cake, being in fantastic shape. The radio was removed from this car. Blowers do work. Cluster shows an ungodly amount of KM’s so we think this cluster was swapped or tampered with. Electric windows up front and manual crank in the rear. All doors open and close as they should.

Mechanical: When we received this car, we noticed it was not getting nearly enough diesel through the pump, so we immediately had the pump removed and sent off to Diesel Fuel Injection Services of Portland. A full tear down, rebuild and bench test is taking place prior to reinstall. We also will be replacing the timing belt, something that is critical with these motors. Fresh oil, coolant, battery, and other misc fluids/gaskets will be sorted prior to us passing the car onto the new owner. This is a 5 speed manual transmission car. Standard “Euroweave” wheels are on the car, ready for a new set of tires of your choosing.

This vehicle is sold with a clean Oregon title.
