32,000 original miles, 5 cylinder 2.7 liter turbo diesel, AWD, towing monster. You heard that right, a Mercedes Benz ML that we never saw here in the US. This already highly capable SUV is sporting the drivetrain that can be found in early Mercedes Sprinter vans, a tried and true, bulletproof turbo diesel OM612.

Exterior - Theres something satisfying about the simplicity of base spec trim, something that always has car enthusiasts looking back for more. This ML is a base spec with the factory black bumpers (very tough feeling paint too) over white. Overall, the body is super straight and original. The one spot of damage is near the passenger rear wheel, low down by the arch. It looks as though someone had repaired it many years ago and the paint is now chipping slightly. It took us a bit to truly notice it. The rest of the cars exterior is great, showing usual small signs of age but overall stunning compared to most ML’s out there. We did just have some new Falken Rubitreks thrown on in the OEM size, something to allow the next owner to truly utilize every bit of this cars potential. Underneath, you could eat off of this car. No rust, corrosion, or anything odd. The plastic looks new, the metals are still amazingly clean. No leaks have been found on this car.

Interior - The moment you open the door on this car you can’t help but drop your jaw a bit. Its clean, very clean. The seats are a cloth/leather combo that screams 2001, the carpet and dash is all exceptionally clean. Rear seats look to never have been sat in, and the rear cargo area matches this same condition. Door cards are in amazing shape with only the drivers side door handle having a small hairline crack in the foam. The dash is clean, with all buttons working perfectly. All windows, seat adjustments (manual, so no motors failing), blowers etc work perfectly. The sunroof is touchy, so we opted out of using it routinely. No lights are illuminated on the cluster, all gauges work as they should. This car has a factory radio and speakers which are quite nice for the year. Headliner is tight and fitted nicely with no sagging.

Mechanical - The best part of this car is the engine, firing up like a cummins diesel, turbo whistle and all. The startups are crips and smooth, zero hesitation, smoke or anything out of the norm. The sounds this car makes whilst driving are addictive, its like a tuned M57 but somehow bone stock. The torque is unreal, and the boost hits very quickly. We have loved driving this car around, running errands and racking up the miles. The transmission is spot on, smooth and precise. The suspension is stock, consistent and comfortable. Same goes for the brakes, nothing odd there. Truly we have zero complaints or anything noteworthy to write on mechanically outside of the fact that it is an absolute hoot to drive.
