2000 BMW 318i RHD Touring

2000 BMW 318i RHD Touring
Right hand drive, 4 cylinder, 3 series wagon? The ultimate non American spec! This touring is for those of you who want a cheap, imported RHD Autobahn hauler. Only 77k miles on this black on black E46 wagon. Zero rust, corrosion, or major signs of wear. Lower it, lift it, keep it stock! These M43 powered E46’s are amazingly easy to work on, resilient, and average 28-40mpg.
Exterior - Original paint is in great shape with zero clear coat failure, no resprays or inconsistency. We did perform a light paint correction on this one, so it does shine up quite nicely. Body is straight and true, there is a few small scratches that are also slightly depressed on hood in a tight cluster in the back right corner. The rest of the body is dent and scratch free, all panels lining up perfectly. The wheels on this car are what we originally thought to be early Racing Dynamics, however the caps seem to be referencing another German tuner brand from the 90’s. We fitted fresh tires on this one, so its ready to go!
Interior - This interior combo is quite fun, as you get the luxury of leather but without the hassle of seat motors. Manual, comfort, heated seats are in great shape with zero rips or tears. The matching black carpet is also in great shape. All seat adjustments work perfectly, as do the windows and sunroof. Central locking works as it should. Center console storage areas does have some signs of wear (common with the softer plastic BMW used), however they still present nicely. The rear console storage cup with the bread box style slider lid is missing its lid. Steering wheel does have some wear on the 12’ o clock position, otherwise its in nice shape with functional manual adjustments. All buttons and switches work perfectly, seat warmers are wicked hot, AC is cold, blowers are strong. Radio is an early 2000’s aftermarket unit that works decent, through OEM speakers. We would recommend planning on updating it to a newer head unit. Being a wagon, this car has the rear luggage cover and dog guard, as well as flat folding seats.
Mechanical - This car has the m43 motor, a European spec option we never saw here in the states. It shares many parts with the M44 motor (what we had here, but in the e36 chassis), making parts sourcing cheap and readily available. All fluids are level with no consumption or odd noises. The car has a new battery, firing right up every time. It drives very well, with an extremely light steering rack thanks to the lack of a heavy 6 cylinder up front. We achieved 30-35mpg both city and freeway whilst driving this car. There is enough pep to cruise at 80mph on the freeway with room to stretch its legs further. No odd noises or concerns, there is a light oil leak from the oil pan, about a drop a day (we would consider this not urgent or concerning). Cooling system is rock solid, never budging past the center mark and taking the appropriate time to get to operating temperature. Brakes also feel nice, steady and consistent. Transmission shifts as it should, no issues there. We are chasing down an off and on “wandering idle” that occurs only sometimes when in drive and at a stop, we assume its a small vacuum leak. It does not affect driving whatsoever.
Overall, this is a great car for someone looking for a low mileage, tidy, fun to drive touring. This definitely is not your garage queen e46, but its also much cleaner than 99% of the stateside examples. This e46 will come with a clean Oregon title in the buyers name.
